Bring videos, photos, documents, spreadsheets, audio and other files into a simple local library. Name your files, add tags, and choose folders and a date so you can find them later.

One file, organized in several places

FileHarbor preserves your originals and stores one managed copy of each import. Windows shortcuts put that copy into your project folders, tag folders and date folders. A large B-roll clip can appear in several places without using the space of several full copies.

Make your library searchable

• Tags: add words such as beach, interview or drone.
• Folders: group files by project, client or collection.
• Dates: choose a date, defaulting to the import date.
• Notes: include details you want to remember.
• Document text: search supported document contents and local English OCR results.

Preview, then download

Preview supported images, PDFs, audio and videos inside the app. Click Download on a search result or preview to save a real copy to Windows Downloads. Existing downloads are protected with numbered filenames.

Your library stays under your control

No FileHarbor account, ads or upload service. Files and metadata are stored locally. Windows or a sync provider such as OneDrive may independently sync redirected Documents or Downloads folders. Read the privacy policy for details.

Questions about FileHarbor

Which Windows PCs does it support?

The current package targets x64 Windows 10 build 19041 or newer and Windows 11. It is a desktop app, not a mobile or Xbox app.

Can I organize any file?

You can import any file type. Built-in previews depend on format and codec support. Searchable content extraction is available for supported documents and images up to 50 MB. Videos use titles, tags and notes for search; they are not transcribed or analyzed for scenes.

Can my team share a library?

This version is a personal local library. Shortcuts refer to the stored file on your computer, so sending a shortcut does not send the video. Use Download to make a full copy you can share through your usual tools.

Does archiving delete a file?

No. It hides the entry from the active view and keeps the file. Use the Archived files filter to restore it. Uninstalling also keeps the Documents library.
